- identify course elements that should be assessed to determine teaching effectiveness
- create, use, and analyze the results from instruments that assess teaching effectiveness
- formulate changes to course as a result of teaching effectiveness analysis

- Differentiate testing and grading from assessing teaching effectiveness
- Identify different times for different assessment methods
- Construct and/or use different assessment methods to evaluate teaching
- Recognize when to use the results of assessment methods to alter instruction, if necessary, to meet learning goals
