Constructing / Administering Tests

The pages in this section provide brief guidelines for constructing different types of test questions as well as for formatting tests. Writing good test questions requires understanding of the do's and don'ts, careful attention, practice, and time. One also needs to recognize that each type of question has advantages and disadvantages so that an informed choice can be made about what kinds of questions are appropriate to use for a given assessment.
