IntroductionThis module is concerned with planning and analyzing the classroom achievement test. Our belief is that the development of good assessment practices is an integral part of good instruction. An instructor may do a truly inspiring job as a lecturer, but if the assessment of his students is regarded by them as unfair, any positive points will be negated by these feelings. Fairness to the student means that the student knew what to study, how he was going to be assessed, the assessment addressed the important objectives and was clearly worded, and grading was done in a customary fashion using criteria clearly addressed in the course.
